Competitive sports...

Competitive sport teaches us how to succeed. Winning is everything.

It is clear that the word “success” is too much related to the competitive sports. However, not all of those people who practise competitive sports are successful. In spite of that, to practise one competitive modality can teach a lot of things.

On the one hand, we know that that kind of sports bring them a big responsibility. If you train for some competitive sport, we will learn much more things which probably we wouldn’t learn in the school despite practising just a sport. For example, train everyday in a sport makes that the athlete learn that he has to make a lot of effort to achieve something or maybe to make sacrifices. I think that the discipline that you get is very valuous.

On the other hand, we also know the dark side. Almost all the athletes think that winning is all what they have to do. The majority haven’t got friends because they are so competitive and egocentric that they are the only ones. Although some virtues like the respect, the comradeship, etc should be important, they aren’t. In my opinion, to win isn’t everything. For the athletes, of course that the consequences of winning, success, recognition, are the top of their careers but, in the end, all of that will be not much in comparison with what the constant training will teach them.

In conclusion, competitive sports can teach us a lot of important and valuous things. The discipline that the competitive sports give can help you succeed in life and achieve other things. Nevertheless. I don’t think that winning is everything because you can do other things to be successful and to be recognised.
