Describing Birdy

Jasmine van den Bogaerde, better known by her stage name "Birdy", is British musician, songwriter and singer who was born the 15th May 1996.

In order make a mental image of her, both physically and psychologically, Birdy is an apparently timid girl with smiling blue eyes, wavy brown hair and small full lips. By the sensitive and mature way she sings and tells her stories, she seems to be pretty honest and lovable.

This young artist shot to fame in 2008 after winning the "Open Mic UK" competition being only twelve years old. In 2011 she released her self-titled first album, Birdy, composed of ten versions and an own song. The version of Skinny Love, Bon Iver's, was the one that shot her to fame. Her second studio album, Fire Within, was released 23 September 2013 in the UK and other surrounding countries.

All of her songs are accompanied by Birdy herself with a piano, giving a very personal style to the entire repertoire and amazing audiences with her soft voice and great performance.

Concluding, as a curiosity, her stage name comes from the nickname her parents gave her as a baby, because she opened her mouth like a little bird when fed.

Here you have the official video of the version "Skinny Love", one of the most known songs by Biry.

Hope you like it!
