Manaus



Manaus is located on the Negro River in the north-west of Brazil. Manaus was funded by the Portuguese in 1669. Now, the population is about 614.000 approximately.

Manaus is a noisy and lively city. Its main industries are the shipbuilding and oil refining but tourism is also a important industry in Manaus. The city likes because there is a big natural jungle park nearby the botanical gardens and the zoo.

Manaus is famous for its majestic Opera house, which is built at the turn of the century, and that’s what Sydney and Manaus have in common, both have an incredible Opera house.

Finally, the weather in Manaus is hot and humid. The average temperature is 27 degrees centigrade and it rains a lot.
