Manaus


Manaus is on the Negro River in the north-west of Brazil. It’s the capital of Amazonas State. The population is approximately 614,000. The more important industries in Manaus are shipbuilding and oil refining. Tourism is very important and the main exports are rubber, nuts and other forest products.  It’s famous for his Opera House, botanic gardens and the zoo. The weather in is hot and humid, the temperature is 27 degrees centigrade and it rains a lot.
