Travelling for adventure is a type of tourism, involving exploration or travel to remote, exotic and possibly hostile areas, among everything being in interaction and egagement with nature.
Adventure tourism is rapidly growing in popularity, as tourists look for different kinds of vacation. Nowadays, it is easier and faster to travel to the other side of the world and this supports people to look for different and exciting experiences.
This type of tourism is characterised by allowing its participants to step outside of their comfort zone. This may be experiencing culture shock or trhough the performance of acts, that require significant effort and involve some degree of risk. This may include activities such as moutaineering, trekking, bungee jumping, rafting, etc. Moreover, this type of activities may help to develop new skills and knowledge as well as potentially life-changing.
