Who is this Drake?

In comparison to other rappers, this one seems not to be so popular. Nevertheless, he has been my favorite singer for years. Aubrey Drake Graham is the world's only black Jewish Canadian actor and rap singer. He was born on October 24, 1986, in Toronto, Canada. His father is an African-American Catholic who was a drummer for the legendary rock star Jerry Lee Lewis, and his mother is a white Canadian Jew.

By the age of 5 his parents were divorced and he was raised by his mother. Despite his Jewish education, he felt isolated in the Forest Hill Collegiate Institute because nobody understood what it was like to be black and Jewish. However, being different from everyone else just made him stronger. In 2001, while starring a role in the Canadian teen drama series Degrassi: The Next Generation he began attempting his transition into the world of music. He released his first mixtape, Room for Improvement and by 2006 it achieved big sales around 6,000 copies. Most of his lyricism is in regard to his riches, fame and past relationships. After touring and recording with the rap star Lil Wayne in 2008, Drake released his third mixtape, So Far Gone, in February 2009. It featured a single called "Best I Ever Had", which peaked at No. 2 on Billboard's Hot 100 singles chart.

Nowadays Drake continues his career as a rapper and by the moment, he is on an Europe tour. Unfortunately he is not coming to Spain so I will not have the opportunity to go to a concert. For me, he is not only a singer but also an inspirational icon. I know it may sound fanatic but his dramatic and nostalgic music is also tender and warm and sometimes it motivates me to go on and try to enjoy more my everyday.
