Recently,
there have been a great emergence of manufactured groups in the music industry and
that have probably made impossible that other kind of musicians can arrive to a
bigger audience. However, I neither agree nor disagree that record companies should
stop signing up pre-designed bands, I simply don’t like the type of music they
play.
From my point of view, these
bands take more care about their image rather than their lyrics. What’s more,
if we watch to some videoclips of any of these groups, we can observe some
pretty faces with ostentatious esthetic singing monothematic songs.
Another aspect which I don’t
like is that despite singing own songs (probably they don’t have any) they sing
the songs that the producer or whoever has written, and that, shows that they have
no musical personality.
In addition, most of these
famous groups, after some years, they mysteriously disappear. Does somebody know
the new single of Sugababes? Or Backstreet Boys? Besides, these types of groups
are constantly changing their members, and in most cases, nobody listen to
anything of them again.
To sum up, as I said, I don’t
really mind what manufactured bands do or stop doing, but I think that music is
a marvellous way to express yourself and that should be the most important of
it, rather than appearance.
An interesting point of view.
